Optional security measures are also available in the security submenu of settings. 3. **Do not connect to unsecured, unknown Wi**–**Fi networks** – using an outdated version of Android can be dangerous not having the sufficient security measures in place to protect your personal data from being victim to malicious attacks. 4. **Disable app downloads from unknown sources** – fastest and easiest way to get infected from malware on an Android device is installing apps outside the Google Play Store. By default the check box is unchecked and disabled in the settings menu. 5. **Install a remote wipe/lock app** – If an Android device is lost or stolen, it makes sense to have a way to wipe or lock it. There are apps on the Google Play that will do just that, reacting from a command via text or web interface.  Popular remote wipe and lock apps include Avast Mobile Security and Cerberus. 6. **Download an anti**–**malware** **app** – If you own an Android phone or tablet, we highly recommend you go to the Google Play store and download ESET Mobile Security & AntiVirus (free). **Need more information or assistance?  Contact {company} at {email} or {phone} for the most reliable IT services and support.** - [Tweet](https://twitter.com/share) #### ![BusinessOwnerGuidetoM&A-1](https://ontimetech.valeonetworks.com/hs-fs/hubfs/BusinessOwnerGuidetoM%26A-1.png?width=303&height=209&name=BusinessOwnerGuidetoM%26A-1.png) #### Download our eBook*THE ULTIMATE ROADMAP TO CMMC COMPLIANCE* by filling out the form below! ![OTT White logo](https://ontimetech.valeonetworks.com/hs-fs/hubfs/VN%20-%20Division%20Logos/OTT%20Logo/OTT%20White%20logo.png?width=524&height=140&name=OTT%20White%20logo.png)   ##### About About On Time Tech is an IT Support and Computer Services company serving California.
