It’s a lot, and you can’t get away from bacteria because it is all around us. Cleaning your tech can prevent you from sharing and contracting illnesses such as the flu and common cold. To stop them from spreading, like the NHL’s mumps problem, follow the directions below for all of your tech devices. **Smartphones and Tablets** These devices are simple to clean, as you only have to worry about the screen. Because they are so easy to clean, there are only a few options available. But, first, go about turning your device off and have it unplugged from the charger. By doing so, you do not run the risk of damaging your device from possible liquid damage. Here are the options available: - **Portable pre-wrapped wipes** – you can purchase these at most electronic stores, they come in disposable packages and can be slipped into your pocket without issues. - **1 -1 mix with rubbing alcohol and white vinegar** – not your best option as large doses leaking into your device can cause damage. Use sparingly and in small amounts. **Television Screens and Monitors** Like a tablet there is not much to clean, but you should also clean the general area around these. Dust travels and televisions and monitors have air vents where dust has easy access. Because it is not recommended to take apart your television or monitor, **keeping the surrounding area clean will keep dust out and overheating issues down**. For cleaning the screen, use the same liquids and products on your tablets. There is a spray you can purchase at your local electronics store that works well. Don’t forget to use a microfiber cloth, as you will not scratch your screen. **Computers and Laptops** Dust is the biggest issue with electronics, and it can physically damage fans, motherboards and hard drives**. Overheating is another major issue that can cause failures with data loss.** Cleaning your computers is important to helping them last and keeping your data safe. For a basic dusting, it is as easy as using **compressed air to blow through the vents**. Doing this will allow your computers to breathe and not hold in as much heat. Be sure to use **short bursts of air and keep the fan still**, usually holding the fan still with a pencil helps. Before you start, **make sure you have a proper backup**. Having a series of backups ensures data protection in case of hardware failure and computer viruses and malware. **Just because a computer needs cleaning on the outside, doesn’t mean it’s not infectious on the inside.** Going over your computer systems to insure protection from malware and viruses means protecting the rest of your network. **Backing up your systems should be a priority**, you don’t want to lose any of your important information. **{company} is very experienced in this field and want to help you become more secure and worry-free.** Here is a list of recommendations that you should be taking on a regular basis: - Have your places secured properly with multiple copies, have one offsite - Have proper spam and email protection from viruses and malware - Keep up to date on your tech updates - Have all security software updating whenever possible - Get involved with mobile security and make it a priority **Keeping all your computers secured on the same network can be a challenge.
